Q. What types of modifications are considered as "diesel performance"?
A. There are many modifications and applications that can be considered as "diesel performance" Diesel performance is recognized as anything that helps your engine function more fully to its capabilities. This includes increased diesel fuel mileage, increased horsepower, lower exhaust temperature etc.. These benefits of diesel performance are usually achieved through three main methods, these are:
Air Intake Systems
Fuel Delivery
Diesel Exhaust Systems
Q. What does an air intake system do for my diesel or turbo diesel engine?
A. There are a number of ways that air intake systems will benefit your diesel engine. A couple of the major things that air intake systems will help with are lowering your exhaust temperatures or E.G.T's as well as increasing your horsepower. One thing you will notice as you increase your horsepower your exhaust temperatures will naturally increase, to gain the horsepower that your crave as well as deliver the protection to your engine that you need, air intake systems by afe, k&n and bully dog are the way to go.
Q. How can I get more fuel delivered to my diesel and what will that do for me?
A. There are a number of ways that you can get more fuel delivered to your turbo diesel engine, what is available for your rig all depends on how old it is. For the older diesels (ex. 89-98 Dodge Cummins, especially the Bosch P7100 pump) you can manually tell the pump to increase the fuel deliver rate. With the newer electronic pumps it can be done through the use of diesel performance chips, and handheld programmers. Other ways that you can deliver more fuel to you diesel are high flow and extrude honed injectors. The reason that you want to increase your fuel delivery is so that you can get your turbo to spool up faster which gives you and your rig more power.
Q. What does a diesel exhaust system do for my rig?
A. There are a number of things that an aftermarket diesel exhaust system can and will do for you vehicle. The main thing that diesel exhaust systems will do for you vehicle will allow the exhaust the escape out of the tale pipe more quickly. When traditional or stock exhaust systems are bent to shape that forms creases which can slow the air flow through the exhaust system, this causes a backing up of pressure known as back pressure
Q. Will diesel performance parts and diesel performance modifications harm my turbo diesel
rig?
A. Fortunately there are a number of ways to safely increase your diesel's horsepower while minimizing the
risks involved. Diesel performance can do as much harm or good to your vehicle as you let it. If you jump into diesel
performance without being educated it can and will harm your vehicle. That is why at Parleys Diesel Performance we want
you to be as educated as possible before you make your purchase and even after you have made your purchase. Here are the
main problems you will face and the solutions to those problems:
Exhaust Temperatures- Even if you were to not increase your diesels' performance, exhaust temperature will be
one of your enemies. There are however a number of diesel performance parts designed just to help with this problem. If
exhaust temperatures are a problem that you currently face or if you are planning on increasing your trucks horsepower you
will want to look into performance air intake systems and diesel performance exhaust systems. You will also want to
monitor your exhaust temperatures by using exhaust temp gauges by companies like auto meter and bully dog.
Diesel Fuel Injection System- With the lubricity or ability to lubricate the internal parts of the injection
system in diesel fuel getting lower and lower throughout the country due to stricter emissions laws the need to take care
of your diesel fuel injection system is critical regardless of if you choose to pursue diesel performance or not. It is
critical for you to use diesel additive to increase the lubricity of the diesel fuel that you are using. For those who
are into diesel performance you will definitely want to use diesel additive as well as you will want to look into ways to
prevent starving your injection pump. One option for this is a high output electric fuel pumps.
Transmission-Transmission slipping is more of a problem in some vehicles than other. Dodges are known for have a
week automatic transmission but every transmission will need some help with extra horsepower needing to make it to the
wheels. There are a number of things that you can do to extend the life of your transmission as well as there are a
number of options that you have to upgrade if your transmission is already slipping. To extend the life of your
transmission you will want routinely maintain your transmission by having it serviced, if you live in the Utah area
contact us and we can set up an appointment, you can also look into these solutions
Synthetic transmission fluids- Synthetic automatic transmission fluids are known to improve fuel
efficiency, reduce transmission temperatures and increase transmission life. It also provides unsurpassed thermal
stability and up to five times the service life of conventional ATFs. Synthetic transmission fluid delivers maximum
protection for towing and other severe-duty applications.
Deep Transmission Pans- Using Mag Hytec transmission pans as well as other deep transmission pans allow you to have a larger resevior of transmission fluid. The benefits of having a deep transmission pan include increased lubricant and cooling capacity for hard working recreational and service vehicles which will in turn increase the life of your transmission.
Transmission Shift Kits-Automatic transmission shift kits are known to provide crisper shifting
which will extend the life of your transmission. Transmissions accomplish smoother shifting by being in two gears
at once when shifting up. It's known as shift overlap. Transmission shift kits reduce or eliminate the shift overlap and
speed up actuation of the shift, this will cause what would appear to be a harder but a better shift. A shift kit will
reduce wear because you won't have the trans trying to be in two gears at once.
Aftermarket Torque Converter- Your torque converter takes the power from you engine and delivers it to your
transmission, the stronger it is, the longer your transmission will last. Rather than trying to beef up your current
torque converter it is better to trust companies like ATS who specialize in aftermarket torque converts.

Q. What is the return policy for your diesel performance parts?
A. The return policies vary on our different products. The handheld programmers have a lifetime return policy, our
rebuilt fuel injection pumps have a 12 month return policy. For the full details on our return policies click here.
Q. Some diesel performance chips and diesel performance programmers and modules say that they can be changed "on the fly." What does "on the fly" mean?
A."On the fly" refers to the ability to be able to change power levels on the go or as you are driving.
Frequently Asked Questions About Diesel Propane Injection
How much power?
The
TS Performance diesel propane injection kit is a 100hp truck system that operates off a vacuum draw. (Approx. 30 to 40 hp on cars)
How much torque?
Torque
will increase as much or more than horsepower.
Does this diesel propane injection kit void my warranty?
This
diesel propane injection kit in and of itself does not void warranty, unless manufacturer
specifically says aftermarket products void warranty. The dealer must be able
to prove that this system actually caused the damage in question. Federal Law
provides protection for vehicle owners. This law is called the Magnuson-Moss
Act of 1975.
What does the diesel propane injection kit do to fuel economy?
Since
diesel engines only burn approximately seventy five percent of their fuel
adding propane will enable the engine to burn one hundred percent of its fuel. In return no carbon build up and cleaner oil is obtained.
How long does it take to
install?
Anywhere
from two to four hours. A complete step by step instruction manual accompanies
all kits. This manual contains descriptive photographs to help aid in the
installation process.
Does it work for my
application?
The TS
Performance power propane system is universal. Therefore it will work on the
Powerstroke, Cummins or Duramax engine, as well as diesel cars such as the VW TDI and others.
Size and type of tank
needed?
A tank
at least 25% of your diesel fuel capacity. We recommend a fork lift tank with
a liquid feed.
Why the TS Power Propane
Injection System over others?
Simple.
One word SAFE. Our regulator contains a vaporizer which will not allow liquid
to flow into your system. This process eliminates the chance of a liquid surge
which in turn can cause serious engine damage. We only use high quality brass
fittings and OEM rubber hoses.
Will this diesel propane injection system have to be adjusted?
The TS
Power propane system is a nonadjustable injection system. This will eliminate
guesswork and over fueling. It operates off a vacuum draw. It will release the
necessary amount of propane that your engine can safely utilize.
