Methanol has an ignition temperature 80 degrees hotter than fuel. This means that methanol doesn’t pre-ignite your fuel, and importantly doesn’t change timing. A typical 3/4 or 1 ton pickup truck with a 7 gallon reservoir of fluid will go approximately 500 miles towing a heavy load and 1000 miles empty before needing to refill the tank. If you run out of fluid, in a pinch you can always just substitute plain old tap water and still reduce your EGT’s. If you don’t have a source for methanol and you won’t be using Snow’s proprietary Boost Juice, we recommend you use blue windshield washer fluid, -20 degrees Fahrenheit, with no added glycol. This can be found across North America in most auto parts stores or even at Walmart.
