Snow Performance has combined performance, quality, and ease of installation in this new water-methanol injection kit. It is designed for all Ford 7.3L, 6.0L, 6.4L & 6.7L Powerstroke diesel truck owners who demand colder EGTs (exhaust gas temperatures) while towing heavy loads. The Diesel Stage 3 Boost Cooler utilizes a 2D mapped controller that commands injection based on boost pressure and EGTs to maintain extremely cold air inlet temperatures, 100-300 EGT decreases, decreased emissions, cleaner engine components, and increased fuel economy all while giving 65 extra horsepower to help pull large hills with ease while towing.
Methanol has an ignition temperature 80 degrees hotter than diesel fuel. This means that methanol doesn’t pre-ignite your diesel fuel, and importantly doesn’t change timing. A typical 3/4 or 1 ton diesel pickup truck with a 7 gallon reservoir of fluid will go approximately 500 miles towing a heavy load and 1000 miles empty before needing to refill the tank. If you run out of fluid, in a pinch you can always just substitute plain old tap water and still reduce your EGT’s. If you don’t have a source for methanol and you won’t be using Snow’s proprietary Boost Juice, we recommend you use blue windshield washer fluid, -20 degrees Fahrenheit, with no added glycol. This can be found across North America in most auto parts stores or even at Walmart.
