Superior Heat Reduction and Containment:

Engine temperature has a direct effect on engine performance, and the exhaust manifold is a major player in controlling that temperature. As exhaust gasses pass through the manifold they transfer a portion of the heat they carry into the material of the manifold. As the material heats up, it will expand, and as it expands the manifold may shift, or push against its bolts. When the engine is turned off, it will cool down, and the material will attempt to shrink. However, depending on the quality and heat resistance of the material, it may not be able to fully return to its original shape. This is why OEM exhaust manifolds have a tendency to crack or warp over time.

Damaged manifolds add an extra danger related to heat to your engine because they allow the exhaust gasses to escape into the engine bay. As the gasses mix with the ambient air surrounding your engine, the temperature can drastically increase and cause damage to components like wires and hoses that are not made to withstand harsh temperatures. 

Each Full Tilt Exhaust Manifold is made from proprietary, high-quality, blended steel that has a much higher heat tolerance than the cast iron or stainless steel used to manufacture OEM manifolds. Expansion from the heat is still a factor, so Full Tilt Exhaust Manifolds are made out of three separate pieces, which allows the manifold to make minute shifts in position as they heat and cool. The components are press-fitted together before they are shipped out to ensure that they are properly fitted so that exhaust gasses have little chance of escaping.

As a final precaution against possible heat related problems, Full Tilt applies a special ceramic coating to all parts of the manifold before they are pieced together. This ensures that each section has the highest heat tolerance possible.

Superior Design

Full Tilt Performance has improved the design of the exhaust manifold to provide better strength in areas where the OEM exhaust manifold is known to regularly fail. Two examples are the flanges and center dividers that are prone to cracking on the factory parts. Full Tilt has increased the durability of those areas on their manifolds by making them thicker and pressure fitting them together. 

Airflow has been improved as well. All sharp turns and twists have been replaced with smooth, easy bends to increase ease of airflow and remove inner turbulence. Better airflow has an added benefit of allowing the heat dispersion to be more evenly distributed along the entire manifold since pockets of hot air are not trapped in the joint areas.

Ease of Installation

Pressure fitting before surfacing means your Full Tilt Exhaust Manifold comes out of the box in one piece. It does not come in three pieces like an OEM manifold. Each Full Tilt Exhaust Manifold is also test mounted on a head to verify proper alignment before they ever leave Full Tilt, so you can be sure that your manifold will accurately fit in the same area as the OEM manifold.
