After Banks’ engineers carefully studied the stock intercoolers for the 2004.5-2005 GMC/Chevy 6.6L Duramax LLY, they decided to upgrade everything for superior results. The Techni-Cooler’s core area is 25% bigger giving it 34% more flow volume — increasing air density for more continuous power. While the stock intercooler has one plastic end tank, the Techni-Cooler steps-up with two durable, all-aluminum end tanks, that will never melt or burst under high-boost conditions.
Extensively tested & validated
Large, streamlined end tanks optimize airflow and air density
25% larger core area with 34% more volume
Improves cooling for higher continuous power & lower EGT
Big boost tubes & durable cast end tanks
Denser air charge improves the combustion process for greater engine efficiency & better fuel economy
Banks’ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) designed, rugged cast aluminum end tanks on the Techni-Cooler insure durability and slick air flow. The same can’t be said for welded-up sheet tanks. Air doesn’t flow well with square corners, and the welds break at high boost when performance is needed the most.
Banks’ Techni-Cooler improves airflow into and out of the intercooler with big mandrel-bent 3” boost tubes. These large, rugged, high-efficiency cast end tanks won’t rupture under high-boost conditions. With a huge inlet and outlet as well as a 25% larger core area provide a whopping 34% improvement in volume.
