After Banks’ engineers carefully studied the stock intercooler for the 1999 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke, they decided to upgrade everything for superior results. The Techni-Cooler’s thicker core area delivers impressive flow volume — an 18% increase in air density for more continuous power and an inlet that distributes air evenly across the intercooler. While the stock intercooler has plastic end tanks, the Techni-Cooler steps-up with two durable, all-aluminum end tanks, that will never melt or burst under high-boost conditions.

Banks’ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) designed, rugged cast aluminum end tanks on the Techni-Cooler insure durability and slick air flow. The same can’t be said for welded-up sheet tanks. Air doesn’t flow well with square corners, and the welds break at high boost when performance is needed the most.

Banks’ Techni-Cooler improves airflow into and out of the intercooler with big mandrel-bent 3” boost tubes. Since the early 1999 stock manifold inlet flows more air to one side of the cylinder bank than the other — Banks designed and developed an innovative Twin-Ram manifold inlet assembly that flows air evenly to both sides for smooth, even power delivery.

1999 Ford Powerstroke variations: 1999 Ford truck model years fall into three categories — 1999, early 1999.5, & late 1999.5. It is important to know your specific model. Please check the build date on the tag inside the driver door to insure that the correct part is purchased.

This Banks’ Techni-Cooler system will fit the 1999 Model Year built prior to 1/99 — with a catalytic converter.
