What is a Core Charge?
On many of the Industrial Injection items we sell, we must collect a refundable Core Charge at the time of your purchase. This generally includes items such as injection pumps, injectors, starters, etc.
“CORE” is actually an acronym for “Cash On REturn.” Cores are re-buildable parts that can usually be redeemed for a portion of their original purchase price. An acceptable core is one that is not broken or so severely damaged beyond repair that it can no longer be repaired and rebuilt to proper working condition.
A “Core Charge” is a deposit for the value of the core that is paid at the time of purchase. Core Charges are usually collected for items such as pumps, injectors, engines, starters, alternators, turbochargers, torque converters, etc. The Core Charge is refundable after the product manufacturer receives your old re-buildable core back.
To receive full core credit, the core you return must be the same model and part number as what was purchased. There is generally not a problem with core refunds — but, if you are unsure if your core will meet our core return policy, then please call us before placing your order.
Cores should be shipped back to the manufacturer within 30 days of purchase in the original container in which the new or rebuilt part was received. The shipping cost for the return of the core is the your, the customer’s responsibility. Please include the original packing slip or shipping label as it identifies your Core Return Number.
To expedite your core charge return, please email us your shipment tracking number:
Once the manufacturer inspects the returned core part, they will issue a refund to us. Within two business days we will then issue a refund to your original credit card or PayPal account. You will then receive an email notification that your account has been credited the core refund.
